John Damoose Launches Campaign Amidst Local Recruitment

Building on the leadership of our current Representative Lee Chatfield, John Damoose hopes to bring a message of hope and reconciliation to Lansing

A Campaign Based on Principles

As we launch this new campaign, with the prayers of friends and family, we hope to bring a sense of grace and civility, mixed with sound moral values and creative perspective to help solve our most pressing concerns. There are some things, of course, that never change - fundamental values based on unwavering universal truth. I believe that to my core. But, at the same time, that doesn't mean we need to be in constant battle with our political opponents.

My intent is to do all I can to advance some key principles, and to gain as broad a consensus as possible in doing those things. I firmly believe that when presented well, from the right perspective and through respect for those who disagree, there is something very appealing about conservative principles that many people will love.

Our campaign will be based on several Scriptures that I hope will form the basis of a literal revolution in public discourse:

1. The Golden Rule: "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you." (Matthew 7:12)

2. Look for the Good: "...whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable - if anything is excellent or praiseworthy - think about such things." (Philippians 4:8)

If we can do these things together, and if we can build a broad coalition of people throughout the Eastern UP and northern lower Michigan, I believe this mission will be unstoppable.
